GIRARD - Richard A. "Rick" Barta, 51, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Hospice House following a brief illness. Rick was born January 17, 1973, in Youngstown, a son of the late Peter and Barbara Morgan Barta and was a lifelong Girard resident. He was a graduate of Girard High School and attended Youngstown State University. Throughout his life, he pursued his passions with zest and joy. He loved cooking and exploring new cuisines, traveling to new places, attending concerts, and gardening. His love for animals was profound, and he found great happiness in their company. Rick is survived by his three brothers, Peter Barta, David Barta and Adam (Marci) Barta; four nephews, Logan, Blake, Brooks and Lofton, and a niece, Lorren. Rick will be remembered for his kindness, his love for life, and the warmth he brought to everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved him. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Barbara Barta, and his grandparents Peter and Susan Barta and George and Eleanor Morgan. Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of Rick's life which will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home 222 S. State St. Girard. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to either Animal Charity 4140 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512 or Hospice of the Valley - Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, OH 44514. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Kim Lanterman, who stayed with Rick and helped care for him throughout his illness. Your support and dedication were deeply appreciated.
