AUSTINTOWN — Richard R. DiMarino, 79, passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Rich was born Jan. 26, 1947, in Lowellville, a son of the late Gaetano and Minnie Ambrosia DiMarino, and was a lifelong area resident.
He attended Lowellville High School and went to work for Youngstown Cartage Trucking Company, where he was employed for 15 years. Rich then worked for Mercy Health for 27 years before retiring in 2009.
Rich was a member of St. Blaise Parish, St. Joseph Church, and the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Council No. 1397, where he earned the rank of Third Degree Knight. He was also a member of the Austintown Senior Center.
In his free time, Rich enjoyed gardening, walking his dogs, Gidget and Snickers, and playing the lottery.
Rich leaves to forever cherish his memory his wife of 30 years, Jean Maughan DiMarino; many nieces and nephews, who affectionately called him “Uncle Richie”; many extended family members; and many dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by his sisters, Rita Ferlan, Elisena DiMarino and Frances DiMarino; and his brothers, Rocky DiMarino and Guy DiMarino.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, at St. Blaise Parish, St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Road, Austintown. All are welcome to attend.
A service of committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.
In lieu of flowers Rich’s family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hope Lodge, 11432 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland, OH 44106.
