Richard K. Dell

GIRARD — Richard K. Dell, 78, passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, at Liberty Health Care Center.

Richard was born March 5, 1947, in Youngstown, a son of the late Edgar and Rita Teachout Dell, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1965 graduate of Girard High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in education from Youngstown State University. Richard furthered his education at Westminster College, where he received his master’s degree in 1982.

Richard taught at Weathersfield Local Schools for 24 years, and also spent time teaching in Warren City Schools and at St. Patrick School in Hubbard. He was deeply committed to his students and found great fulfillment in guiding young people through their education.

A faithful man, Richard was an active member of St. Rose Church in Girard and attended daily Mass at St. Columba Cathedral, where his quiet devotion was well known.

He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and greatly enjoyed collecting baseball cards and memorabilia — a lifelong hobby that brought him much happiness.

Richard is survived by his sister, Mary Dell of Colorado; and by many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, Brian Dell, Norman Dell, Timothy Dell and infant Edward Dell.

Per Richard’s request, there are no calling hours or services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Girard.

Richard’s family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace, reunited with his loved ones, and held in God’s eternal care.
