Rhonda Lynn Thompson

AUSTINTOWN - Rhonda Lynn Thompson, 54, passed away Friday evening, May 29, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

Rhonda was born Feb. 20, 1972, in Youngstown, a daughter of John D. Thompson Jr., and Warrenette McCreary Thompson, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a 1990 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and worked for the Tamarkin Company for many years until the Youngstown location closed.

Rhonda was a member of Ellsworth Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed watching soap operas, traveling — especially to her favorite destination, Put-in-Bay — and spending time with her beloved canine companions, Chloe and Holly. Most of all, Rhonda treasured the time she spent with her family and friends.

She leaves to forever cherish her memory her daughter, Angela Thompson, and her mother, Warrenette Thompson, with whom she shared her home; her aunt and uncle, Gloria and Butch Yeany of Austintown; her best friend, Tammy (John) Pittano of Austintown; many extended family members and dear friends; and her beloved dogs, Chloe and Holly.

Rhonda will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her father, John D. Thompson Jr., died Nov. 29, 2022.

Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.

Private interment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown.
