AUSTINTOWN - Ralph S. Yakimoff, Sr., 74, passed away peacefully late Saturday evening, Sept. 26, 2015, at Hospice House following a brief illness.
Ralph was born July 31, 1941, in Youngstown, a son of the late Boris "Bud" and Bertha "Dolly" Bundy Yakimoff, was a 1959 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and a lifelong area resident.
He worked as a millwright for over 40 years, first for U.S. Steel at the McDonald Works, and then retiring from WCI Steel in Warren.
Mr. Yakimoff was a former Democratic committeeman in the 16th precinct. He was an active member of the Girard Lions Club and was very proud of the work that organization did providing eyeglasses to children in need. Ralph also enjoyed being a member of several other local clubs.
Ralph leaves his wife of nearly 53 years, Judith Ann Burrows Yakimoff, whom he married Oct. 6, 1962; four children, Ralph S. Yakimoff Jr., Greg (Judy) Yakimoff, Michelle Ward, and Stephanie (Bill) Vadas, all of Austintown; nine grandchildren, whom he adored, Geneen Yakimoff, James Yakimoff, Joseph (Kristine) McGeary, Kane Yakimoff, Andrew Dunn, Emily Dunn, Austin Ward, Allison Ward, and Meghan Vadas; two great-granddaughters, Kailiana McGeary and Charlize Yakimoff; a sister, Corrine (Butch) Mulhall; two sisters-in-law, Betty Yakimoff and Barbara Setree; and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Donald and George Yakimoff, preceded him in death.
Per Ralph's request, there will be no calling hours or services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 North Meridian Road, Youngstown.
Ralph's family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Ralph's memory to Girard Lions Club, P.O. Box 306, Girard, OH 44420; or to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, OH 44514.
