Obituary

BOARDMAN - Peter N. Dubos, 82, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, April 2, 2018, at his home following a lengthy illness.

Peter was born Dec. 16, 1935, in Campbell, a son of the late Peter and Julia VanSuch Dubos, and was a lifelong area resident.

Pete was a 1953 graduate of East High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army after graduation from 1953 until 1955 during the Korean War.

Mr. Dubos worked as pipefitter for Wean United for 22 years, and then for General Motors at the Lordstown Plant for 15 years, retiring in 1998.

Pete was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Campbell.

Pete loved music, and started a family polka band when he was just 12 years old. He played in the family band for over 50 years, loved playing the accordion, and was also a member of the St. Michael Church choir. He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians No. 86-242. Pete enjoyed lottery scratch-off tickets, going to casinos, and most of all, he loved the time he spent with his family. His fondest wish was for everyone around him to be happy and did what he could to make that happen.

Pete leaves his wife of 60 years, Geraldine Phillips Dubos, whom he married June 1, 1957; four sons, Paul Dubos of Boardman, Charles (Jeanette) Dubos of Coitsville, William (Cheryl) Dubos of Diamond, and Gerald (Dolly) Dubos of Lowellville; a daughter, Nadyne Dubos of Poland; a daughter-in-law, Laura Garasic Dubos of Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren, Adam, Jacqueline, Anna, Dan, Valerie, Mark, Kevin, Brian, Brittany, Kenneth, Nicholas, and Samantha; seven great-grandchildren; and his dog, "Lil Weezer."

Pete will be truly and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by a son, Peter Dubos; a grandson, Justin Dubos; and siblings, Thomas Dubos, Margaret Ostrowski, Julie Yarb, and Bill Dubos.
