IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Penelope N.
Walker
December 17, 1959 – March 23, 2025
SALEM - Penelope N. "Penny" Walker, 65, passed away peacefully, Sunday afternoon, March 23, 2025, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side.
Penelope was born December 17, 1959, in Columbiana, a daughter of the late Kenneth Harold Walker and Shirley Rosemary Hysong Walker. She spent her life in the area, where she brought light, laughter, and warmth to those who knew her.
Penny was a long-time participant in the No Limits Day Program, where she formed many lasting friendships and found joy in connection and community. She was also cared for by Advocacy Protective Services Inc., (APSI) for many years. A woman of faith, Penny attended First Christian Community Church in Salem.
Penny found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved country drives, the feel of sun on her face and grass under her bare feet. She was known for picking flowers wherever she found them and for her joyful visits to Chuck E. Cheese—one of her favorite places.
Penny is survived by her best friend, Angie Schumacher and her husband, Kyle, with whom she made her home for the past year; their daughters, JoAnna and Leeanna; her buddy, Brantley and his family; as well as her extended families at Turning Point Residential, especially Kathy and Mary Kay, and the No Limits Day Program. Each of them held a special place in her heart.
A private celebration of Penny's life was held on Wednesday, April 9.
Penny will be laid to rest at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown.
Those who knew Penny will remember her for her sweet spirit, joyful nature, and the quiet way she touched so many lives. She will be deeply missed.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
