Obituary

AUSTINTOWN - Paul David Damore, 82, passed away peacefully, early Thursday morning, August 15, 2024, at Omni Manor.

Paul was born March 9, 1942, in Youngstown, a son of the late James Damore and Constance Wooley Damore lived most of his life in the Youngstown area.

Paul was a proud graduate of The Rayen School and continued his education at Youngstown State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in English. His commitment to serving his country was evident in his time with the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded two Bronze Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal for his valor and dedication.

Throughout his career, Paul worked in various capacities, contributing his skills to Gray Drugs, Western Reserve Plastics, and Simco Management Corp. He also served as a house parent at New Mexico Boys Ranch House for several years, where his compassionate nature touched the lives of many. Most recently, he was employed at Astro Shapes.

A man of faith, Paul was an active member of Wedgewood Park Evangelical Church, where he selflessly volunteered his time as a janitor for many years. His love for sports, especially ping pong, softball, and basketball, kept his spirit vibrant and active.

Paul is survived by his wife of 19 years, Geraldine Montella Aaron Damore whom he married July 2, 2005; his three children, Eric Damore of Youngstown, Hope (Jim) Fossesca of Poland and Jodi Evick of Struthers; eight grandchildren, Nathan Damore, Jordyn Jones, Ryan Jones, Aidyn Jones, Owen Jones, Leah Evick, Logan Evick and Liveah Evick; two great-grandchildren, Audrey and Amari; four step-children; five step-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; his sister in law, Carol Damore and his niece, Connie Drohn.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Damore

Family and friends may call from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Wedgewood Park Evangelical Church 1944 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will be held at 4 p.m.

Private interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
