Patricia A. Rovnak Gillam

YOUNGSTOWN – Patricia A. Rovnak Gillam, 89, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in New Port Richey, Florida.

Pat was born Jan. 31, 1937, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Michael “Mike” and Anna Swaneck Horanski, and was a lifelong area resident before moving to Florida in 2025.

She was a 1954 graduate of North High School and worked in the employee cafeteria at Dollar Bank before dedicating her life to raising and caring for her family.

Pat was a woman of deep faith and a longtime active member of the former Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church. She was also formerly a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, St. Matthias Church, and more recently belonged to St. Mary Magdalene Parish, St. Christine Church.

In her younger years, Pat looked forward to spending several months each year in Florida with her parents. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family and the many memories they created together throughout the years.

Pat leaves to forever cherish her memory her three sons, Stephen A. (Janet) Rovnak Jr. of Boardman, Patrick P. (Angela) Rovnak of Austintown and James G. (Maria) Rovnak of New Port Richey, Florida; 10 grandchildren, Stevie Rovnak, Erica (Michael) Sofranec, Christine (Jimmy) Lapikas, Jennifer (Joshua) Baker, Samantha (Joe) Reedy, Patrick P. (Taylor) Rovnak Jr., Mariah (Sean) Congemi, James G. (Samantha) Rovnak Jr., Edward Rovnak Jr. and George Rovnak; many great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Mary Ann and Debbie; and many extended family members and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her first husband, Stephen A. Rovnak; her second husband, William Gillam, affectionately known as “Papa Bill”; her granddaughter, Danielle; and her sister, Rose Tablack. Rose’s husband, John Tablack, also preceded Pat in death.

Family and friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2026, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Parish, St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
