GIRARD – Patricia R. "Trish" Moon, 79, passed away peacefully, Tuesday afternoon, December 17, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital surrounded by the love of her family.
Patricia was born September 6, 1945, in Niles, a daughter of the late George and Ann Weida Rovnak. A lifelong resident of the area, she graduated from Niles McKinley High School, Class of 1963. Trish dedicated many years of her professional life as a legal assistant at Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Court, working alongside Attorney Michael Gallo, until her well-deserved retirement.
Trish's faith was an integral part of her life. She attended St. Stephen Church in her early years, where she also completed her grade school education. In recent years, she found spiritual solace at Pleasant Valley Church.
A creative soul, Trish loved painting and crafting, hobbies that reflected her vibrant personality. In her younger days, she delighted in dancing and attending live music events, embracing life with joy and enthusiasm. She was also a passionate animal lover and found immense happiness in the company of her family, who were the heart of her world.
Trish leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her four children, Christine (Michael) Adams of Girard, Leslie (Ron) Granger of Liberty, Ed Adkins of Vienna, and Jamie (Anthony) Scandy of Poland; nine grandchildren, Marie (Ryan) Melichar, Dominic Adams, Courtney Wasko, Dr. Gerald Wasko, Mason Granger, Emily Adkins, Ethan Adkins, Anthony Scandy III, and Sophia Scandy; three great-grandchildren, Emerson, Elliott, and Dean; her sister, Mary Ann (Gary) Thompson of Boardman, along with many extended family members
Private family services will be held at Kinnick Funeral Home in Girard.
In lieu of flowers, Trish's family suggests memorial contributions be made to Animal Charity of Ohio https://www.animalcharityofohio.org/.
Trish's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Windsor House in Canfield and Liberty Assisted Living for their kindness, compassionate care and unwavering support over the years.
