IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nancy Jo
Truslow
February 1, 1937 – October 7, 2025
POLAND — Nancy Jo Truslow, 88, formerly of Austintown, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 7, 2025, at Shepherd of the Valley in Poland.
Nancy Jo was born Feb. 1, 1937, in Batesville, Va., a daughter of the late John Thomas Layman and Bertha Smythe Marsh Layman. She came to the Mahoning Valley in 1957.
She was a 1954 graduate of Albemarle High School and attended Ferrum Junior College in Virginia for two years. Nancy worked for many years in the Austintown School System, where she was well liked by her coworkers and the students she served.
Nancy was a longtime member of Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, where she served faithfully as a deacon and sang joyfully in the choir. She enjoyed traveling, singing, and dancing, and she cherished socializing with her friends. Above all, Nancy found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, whom she loved deeply.
She leaves to forever cherish her memory her three sons, R. Scott (Jaime) Truslow of Columbus, Robert J. (Justine) Truslow of Lowellville, and Richard A. (Janelle) Truslow of Austintown; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Robert (Liz) Layman of Batesville, Va.; and many extended family members and friends.
Her husband, Randolph M. Truslow, whom she married June 18, 1957, preceded her in death May 17, 1984. An infant son, Randolph M. Truslow Jr., and six siblings — Bill, Barbara, Randy, Scotty, Elizabeth, and John — also preceded her in death.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, 45 Idlewood Road in Austintown.
