LIBERTY TOWNSHIP - Michael Woloschak, 94, passed away Thursday evening, Dec. 15, 2016, at his home, following a long and fulfilling life.
Michael was born Nov. 19, 1922, in Youngstown, a son of the late John and Theresa Suchy Woloschak, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a graduate of Chaney High School, and was a proud U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater.
Michael worked as a tool designer with General Fireproofing for 34 years, and then as a machinist with General Electric for 10 years, retiring in 1985.
Mr. Woloschak was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Youngstown. He was a past-auditor at the church, was a member of the church choir, and was active with various church projects. Michael was also a member of the AUP Club and PLAV Post No. 1222.
Michael leaves his son, Dr. Michael Woloschak, M.D. of Manhattan, New York; a daughter, Dr. Gayle Woloschak, PhD. of Chicago; a brother, John Woloschak of North Olmsted; and a sister, Esther Musichuk of Parma.
His wife of 55 years, Frances A. Pysh Woloschak, whom he married Sept. 17, 1949, passed away July 30, 2005. Two brothers, Steve and Paul Woloschak, and three sisters, Mary Kakish, Kay Fitch, and Ann Woloschak, are also deceased.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 19, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a prayer service will take place at 4 p.m.
Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20, at the funeral home, will continue at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church on North Belle Vista Avenue in Youngstown.
Interment will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, where Michael will be laid to rest next to his wife.
