Obituary

YOUNGSTOWN - Michael G. "Mike" Roblak, 69, of the city's west side, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, December 3,2024, at Hospice House surrounded by his family after a fierce, four year fight with cancer.

Michael was born February 28, 1955, in Youngstown, the beloved son of the late Mike and Julie Kulik Roblak and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a proud graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1973, and began his career at General Motors Lordstown. He later owned and operated Mike's Autobody Shop in Girard, where his passion for cars flourished. Mike eventually transitioned to a rewarding 23-year career as a truck driver with R. Tumbleweed Transportation before retiring.

Known for his gregarious personality, Mike never met a stranger. His warmth and friendly nature allowed him to form connections wherever he went, leaving those he met feeling uplifted and valued. An active member of the Italian Fraternal Home (IFH) in Girard, Mike found joy in camaraderie and community.

Mike was passionate about all things automotive, particularly classic cars adorned with the iconic Chevrolet "bowtie." He relished attending car shows, tinkering on projects in his garage, and sharing his knowledge with fellow enthusiasts. Mike also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially over a game of cards or Yahtzee!

Mike leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his daughter, Stephanie (Mike) Case of Youngstown; his son, Michael Roblak III of Tampa, Florida; and his twin sister, Michele (Joe) Gulas of Youngstown. He will also be deeply missed by his closest friends, Jan (Toni) Margetko of Tallmadge, who faithfully brought him meals and shared many games of cards, and Tom (Mary) Osman of Boardman.

Preceding Mike in death were his devoted parents and his beloved partner of 20 years, Gina M. Lucas.

Mike will be forever remembered for his strength, kindness, and love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
