GIRARD - Michael J. Komlanc, 63, departed this world, Thursday morning, July 28, 2016, at Hospice House, surrounded by his family.

Michael, who was known to many as "Mick," was born Oct. 7, 1952, in Youngstown, a son of the late Joseph and Margaret Riley Komlanc, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1971 graduate of Girard High School and later attended Youngstown State University. He was self employed.

Mr. Komlanc was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard.

Michael was an avid pool player and was involved in many local leagues. He had a great love of all sports and was an avid Cleveland sports fan.

Michael is survived by his longtime companion, Betty Colapietro of Youngstown; two children, Melissa (Giovanni) DellaGatta of Girard and Michael (Emma) Komlanc of Poland; a brother Thomas (Karen) Komlanc of Clearwater, Fla., and Betty's son, Robert Colapietro of Youngstown.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Mass which will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at St. Rose Church, 48 E. Main St., Girard.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard.
