AUSTINTOWN – MaryAnn E. Riley, 79, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, February 13, 2025, at Hospice House surrounded by the love of her family.

MaryAnn was born May 22, 1945, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John S. Popovich and Agnes Dzuroff Popovich. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a proud 1963 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. She dedicated many years of her career as a secretary at Republic Steel before transitioning to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, where she served as both a nurse's aide and later in the admitting office for 12 years before retiring.

In her retirement, MaryAnn found joy in crafting, sharing her creativity with others through her handmade items at craft shows throughout the area. She also extended her care and kindness to families in the community by cleaning homes.

Mrs. Riley was a former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and she cherished time spent with her loved ones, especially her nephews and great-nephew, who held a special place in her heart.

MaryAnn is survived by her sister, Theresa (Andrew) Mark of Bolivar, Ohio; her nephews, Joseph J. Rimedio Sr. (Lorie) and Andrew Mark Jr. (Abby); and her great-nephew, Joseph Rimedio Jr.

Her husband of 37 years, Robert "Bruce" Riley, whom she married August 9, 1982, died March 25, 2020.

A sister, Genevieve Rimedio, a brother-in-law, Paul Rimedio and a nephew, Josh Mark also preceded MaryAnn in death.

Family and friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will take place at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery where MaryAnn will be laid to rest beside her husband.
