Obituary

LAKE MILTON - Mary Rose Morley, 61, passed away at her home on Monday, October 7, 2024.

Mary Rose was born February 28, 1963, in Canada, the beloved daughter of the late Judge Leo P. and Lucy J. Miller Morley. Though she was born across the border, she made Youngstown her lifelong home, moving to the area as a baby of just five months old.

Mary Rose was a proud graduate of St. Brendan Elementary School and Ursuline High School, Class of 1981. Driven by a passion for helping others, she earned her master's degree in social work from Youngstown State University. She went on to serve her community as a corrections officer for the state of Ohio, before finding a new purpose as a teacher's aide at Jackson Milton Elementary School, where she continued to touch the lives of countless children.

Known for her love of Mickey Mouse, frequent trips to Disney World, and her signature embrace of the color pink, Mary Rose had a boundless enthusiasm for life. Her warm heart and playful spirit made her unforgettable. She was adventurous, compassionate, and deeply respected by all who knew her. Her generous acts of kindness—including saving lives and rescuing animals—reflected her unwavering commitment to making the world a better place, one deed at a time. Whether it was dogs, cats, or birds, Mary Rose had a special place in her heart for all creatures.

In addition to her many accomplishments, Mary Rose was also a certified lifeguard, working summers at Avalon Country Club, where she ensured the safety and well-being of countless swimmers. Her love for sports extended to her work at Cleveland Browns Stadium, where she proudly served as an attendant for 10 home games. Whether she was on the field, at the pool, or in the classroom, Mary Rose brought her vibrant energy, commitment, and care to every role she undertook. Her adventurous spirit and devotion to others truly knew no bounds.

She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unique, entertaining personality. She was truly one of a kind, with a zest for life and a heart that never stopped giving.
