AUSTINTOWN - Mary P. Kubina, 83, passed away peacefully Monday morning, Sept. 28, 2015, at Hospice House.
Mary was born Aug. 6, 1932, in Lowellville, a daughter of the late George and Vera Macala Alusik, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a 1950 graduate of East High School, and in her younger days worked for McKay Machine Co. as a telephone operator. She subsequently worked for the Youngstown Hospital Association for 25 years as a receptionist at the former Northside and Southside Hospitals.
Mary was a member of St. Joseph Church in Austintown. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and baking, reading, and travel, and she especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Kubina leaves her beloved husband of 50 years, Norbert J. Kubina, whom she married Nov. 28, 1964; her son, Dr. Mark (Cynthia) Kubina of Bolivar; and four grandchildren, Tyler, Kristen, Matthew, and Allison.
A brother, George Alusik, preceded her in death.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., SATURDAY, Oct. 3, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m.
Committal services will follow at St. John Cemetery in Coitsville.
