YOUNGSTOWN - Mary Ann Barnett, 60, of the city's south side, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at her home.

Mary Ann was born March 4, 1957, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Stephen and Stella Oleksiuk Sova, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a graduate of The Rayen School, and also earned license in cosmetology, working as a hairdresser years ago. Mary Ann was currently a homemaker who loved animals, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mary Ann leaves her husband, Kenneth P. Barnett, whom she married March 17, 1981; her daughter, Nicole M. Hoschar of Youngstown; her son, Kevin J. Barnett of Boardman; five grandchildren, Kaylyn, Karen, Austin, Taeveon, and Liam; and a sister, Jo Ann DelFraino of Austintown.

A grandson, Justin; a brother, Stephen Sova Jr. and his wife, Mary Ann; and a brother-in-law, Henry DelFraino, are deceased.

Family and friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd. in Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at 2 p.m.

Interment will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
