AUSTINTOWN - Maria Rose Clementina Manolio, 94, passed away peacefully, Friday morning, June 21, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Maria was born  June 19, 1930, in Colobraro, Italy, a beloved daughter of the late Biagio and Teresa Congo Falabella. In 1968, she immigrated to the United States, settling in Youngstown where she created a loving home and dedicated her life to caring for her family.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Maria's greatest joy was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, always ensuring they were well-fed with her delicious meals. Maria was renowned for her exceptional baking skills and her "famous" lasagna, which became a staple at family gatherings.

Maria was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica in Youngstown, where she found solace and community. She took immense pride in her Italian heritage and carried forward the traditions and values she grew up with.

Maria is survived by her two daughters, Carla Barnette, with whom she shared her home, and Josephine (Harold) Ferell of Newport News, VA; five grandchildren, Michael Barnette, Maria Barnette, George (Sarah) Barnette, Tarel (Teya) Barnette and JoJo Ames; 21 great grandchildren; and a sister, Angelina Sacco of Austintown.

Her husband of 46 years, Vincenzo Manolio, whom she married April 29, 1950, died September 22, 1996.

A brother, Antonio Falabella also preceded Maria in death.

Family and friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica 343 Via Mt. Carmel Ave., Youngstown, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at Belmont Park Cemetery in Youngstown, where Maria will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
