Obituary

AUSTINTOWN - Margaret M. Paul, 90, of Youngstown's west side, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 15, 2015, at Briarfield Manor in Austintown.

Margaret was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John and Barbara Balog Paul, and lived in Youngstown for most of her life.

Margaret was a 1943 graduate of Chaney High School and then had a career in the U.S. Air Force. She served in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) during World War II, and then became a Tech Seargent in the Air Force, serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. She was stationed in Japan, Germany, and France, and was honorably discharged from the service on Aug. 1, 1971.

Marge was a member of the former Our Lady of Hungary Church in Youngstown.

She enjoyed watching sports, playing tennis, and traveling the world while she was in the military. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her "troops," her great-nieces and great-nephews, and her great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Margaret leaves a niece, Janyth Keevey of Austintown; a nephew, Robert Charles (Karen Ann) Day of Berlin Center; great-nieces and great-nephews, Amy Jane (Andy) Russ of Columbus, Aaron (Amy Beth) Keevey of Wellington, Fla., Ryan Robert Day of Cortland, Kerry Ann (Jeff) Bettross of Austintown, Eric Charles (Kaitlyn) Day of Lothian, Md., Adam Michael (Julie) Day of Austintown, and Megan Marie Day of Newton Falls; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Ava Lynn Keevey, Allen Jeffrey and Khloe Ann Bettross, and Dylan Charles Day.

A sister, Helen Day, two brothers, Albert and John Paul, and a nephew, Jack Keevey, are deceased.

Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., WEDNESDAY, Sept. 23, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., WEDNESDAY at the funeral home, and will continue at 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Brendan Church, 2800 Oakwood Ave., Youngstown.

Committal services with military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
