YOUNGSTOWN — Lorraine Minerva Wells, 82, a longtime resident of the Youngstown area, passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026.

Lorraine was born Oct. 10, 1943, in Ellsworth Township, the second-born twin daughter of the late Leo B. and Myrtle J. (Ulrich) Marrinan.

The Marrinan family moved to Youngstown during Lorraine’s early years. She attended school with perfect attendance and graduated from South High School in 1962.

After working a variety of jobs in her early years, Lorraine found her passion as a professional chef. She worked for several local restaurants for more than 25 years before retiring in the 1980s.

Following her retirement, Lorraine began a second career, owning and operating a residential and commercial service company before retiring for a second time in the 2000s.

In her personal time, Lorraine was an active member of the Christian Science Church and volunteered for various local charities. She was also known for her creative artwork and for her imagination, warmth, and distinctive way of sharing memories.

Lorraine was married to James “Jimmy” Madison Wells until his passing on April 19, 2023.

She leaves to cherish her memory her twin sister, Ramona, and her niece, Christine.

Besides her husband and parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her brothers, Nelson and Larry.

In keeping with Lorraine’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
