AUSTINTOWN - Linda Marie Polder, 81, passed away peacefully, Thursday morning, August 1, 2024, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side.

Linda was born May 29, 1943, in Canton, a daughter of the late George Schissler and Dorothy Schrader Schissler. She moved to the Youngstown area in 1967 and has been a cherished member of the community ever since.

A proud graduate of Louisville High School, Class of 1961, Linda ventured to Washington D.C. in her younger days, where she worked for the Department of the Navy. It was there she met her future husband, Randolph Polder. Their love story blossomed, leading to a beautiful marriage on February 28, 1964, that lasted 51 wonderful years until Randolph's passing on October 1, 2015.

Linda's professional journey included work with several investment firms until her well-deserved retirement. She was also a dedicated member of Zion Lutheran Church, contributing to her community with grace and compassion.

Linda is survived by her two daughters, Robin (Roger) Fotiuk of Austintown and Stacie (Jerry) Walton of Mineral Ridge; five grandchildren, Brandon Fotiuk, Justin (Caroline) Fotiuk, Jacob (Chelsea) Walton, Meagan Walton and Liam Walton; three great-grandchildren, Sophia, Dylan and Connor; two sisters, Gail Gibbs of Louisville, OH and Cindy (Gary) Begue also of Louisville; a sister in law, Janice Ferry of Liberty Township and many extended family members.

A sister, Georgia Schmucker preceded Linda in death.

Family and friends may gather to pay respects from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church 3300 Canfield Rd., Youngstown, OH, 44511 where a memorial service will take place at noon. A celebration of life reception will follow in the church hall at 1 p.m.
