NILES - Kenneth P. Kidd, 73, passed away early Saturday morning, Jan. 16, 2016, at Mount Carmel St. Ann Hospital in Westerville, following a full and enjoyable life.
Kenneth was born April 25, 1942, in Youngstown, the son of the late Raymond and Cecilia Walski Kidd, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, where he played quarterback on the varsity football team. After graduation, Ken proudly served in three branches of the U.S. Military - the Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps - and was honorable discharged just before the Vietnam War.
He worked for General Motors at the Lordstown plant for 30 years, retiring in 2000, and he had attended the ITT Technical Institute.
Kenneth enjoyed swimming, horseracing, and all sports. He was an avid fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Green Bay Packers, and of the Cleveland Indians.
Mr. Kidd was of the Catholic Faith.
Kenneth's beloved wife of 47 years, Sandra J. Bazell Kidd, whom he married Oct. 30, 1963, passed away Dec. 5, 2010.
Mr. Kidd leaves four children, Scott A. (Susan) Kidd of Struthers, Diana K. (Stephen) Zerefos of Warren, Paula J. (Roger) Parsons of Niles, and Rhonda D. (Michael) Boyce of Pataskala, with whom he lived with for the past six months; and five grandchildren, Kayla N. Parsons, Krystopher G. Boyce, Jessica L. Danko, Nicholas Z. Boyce, and Kenneth F. Zerefos.
Besides his wife, two brothers, William R. Kidd and Gerald A. Kidd, preceded him in death.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where funeral services will follow at 4 p.m.
