IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth J.
Fisher
June 18, 1943 – April 12, 2025
BOARDMAN - Kenneth J. "Kenny" Fisher, 81 passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 12, 2025, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.
Kenneth was born June 18, 1943, in Youngstown, the son of the late Joseph and Julia Stroney Fisher. He grew up on the South Side of Youngstown and attended St. Dominic Church and was a proud fan of Cardinal Mooney High School, always cheering them on with his signature "Go Mooney!"
Growing up, Kenny spent countless hours in the kitchen with his mother, sparking a lifelong love of food and cooking. Even more than his passion for cooking, Kenny adored music. He had an incredible memory for lyrics and especially loved the voices of Connie Francis, Patsy Cline, and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The only rival to his love of music might have been his cherished stuffed animal, "Tippy" — a well-loved Sylvester the Cat who was always by his side.
Kenny worked at Masco Inc., for over 40 years before retiring in 2018. He was a jack of all trades, from working in the kitchen to being a radio host. He cherished his time at the workshop, where he made countless friends whose names and stories he fondly remembered over the years.
A member of Christ our Savior Parish, Struthers, Kenny was a devout Catholic, and could frequently be heard proudly celebrating his faith by shouting out "Hallelujah!". If he wasn't attending in person, he was watching daily mass and praying his rosary at home.
His family was very important to him. Closest to Kenny was his nephew Michael, with whom he shared a home with for over 60 years. Michael was more of a brother to Kenny than a nephew and their bond was so special. Kenny never forgot a name, and often coined nicknames for those he loved dearest.
To know him was to love him, the purest soul with the most infectious laugh that never failed to put a smile on your face. In addition to his nephew, Michael Cunningham, Kenny leaves behind a sister-in-law, Delores Fisher; his sisters, Beverly (Jim) Glenellen and Judy Worther; nieces, Sandy (Paul) Basista, Donna (Randy) Kriebel, and Kathy Eberhart; nephews, Fred (Teresa) Fisher, Anthony Fisher, James (Danette) Fisher and Thomas Korchnak; numerous great nieces and great nephews, two great-great nieces, and countless friends.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Fisher and Fred R. Fisher and a sister, Marilyn Cunningham.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Nicholas Church, in Struthers, with the Rev. Zachary Coulter officiating. Committal Services followed at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
Kenneth's family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Santuccio Ricciardi, Dr. James Stille, and their staff for their compassionate care over the years. Special appreciation is also extended to Sanctuary Hospice of Ohio for their support in recent weeks. The family is also sincerely grateful to all of Kenny's wonderful caregivers - your unconditional love over the years enriched his life, especially dear Shaneka & Catrina.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
