BOARDMAN - Keith Gerald Waterbeck, 49, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening March 3, 2016, at his home with his wife and daughter by his side.
Keith was born May 11,1966, in Youngstown, a son of Gerald and Ella Frease Waterbeck, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a 1984 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, and worked as a mechanic for 15 years with his father-in-law at Partners Auto Repair on Youngstown's west side. He later worked as a delivery driver for Value City Furniture in Boardman.
Keith enjoyed working on cars and spending time with family and friends. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR.
He was a great husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and a friend to many. He will always be remembered for his bright smile, infectious laughter, and willingness to help others. A generous soul, Keith's last gift was as an organ donor, so that others could have another chance at life.
Keith leaves his wife of 19 years, Debra Matyi Waterbeck, who was his teenage sweetheart, and whom he married Feb. 14,1997; his loving daughter, Allyson Waterbeck; his parents, Gerald and Ella Waterbeck of Youngstown; his father-in-law, Frank Matyi of Youngstown; his mother-in-law, Elsie (Robert) Bunyoff of Youngstown; two brothers, Rick (Jill) Waterbeck of Richmond, Ky. and Matt (Sara) Waterbeck of Poland; a sister, Pam Waterbeck of Youngstown; a brother-in-law, Bob (Brenda) Helsel of Munising Mich.; two sisters-in-law, Diane LaFavor (Kirk) of Youngstown and Andrea (Mike) Hodge of Hubbard; nieces and nephews, Jerieka, Kaleigh, Justin, Hayden, and Gregory Waterbeck, Jessica Matyi, R.C., and Ian Helsel, Hannah Labranche, and Michael Hodge; a great-nephew, Maddix Waterbeck; and great-nieces, Abigail Gordon, Avaleigh Waterbeck, Ashlynn Helsel.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Waterbeck, and a nephew, Julian Gray Prest.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m.
