NILES - Karen Stanovcak Shelley, 57, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 2, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Karen was born Nov. 12, 1958, in Youngstown, a daughter of Robert Sr. and Frances DiCesare Stanovcak, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a graduate of Girard High School and worked for Alorica for the last seven years.

Karen enjoyed crafts and making ceramics. She also enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Donald (Emily) Shelley Jr. and David (Amanda) Shelley, both of Niles; a daughter, Nicole (Jacob) Burchell; five grandchildren, Adelyn, Matthew, Joey, Carter, and Livia; her mother, Frances Stanovcak of Girard; three brothers, Robert (Tamara) Stanovcak Jr, Steve (Jo) Stanovcak, and Mark (Rochelle) Stanovcak; two sisters, Susan (Paul) Fitch and Marylyn (Ray) Grow; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Her father, Robert Stanovcak Sr., and a sister, Elaine Stanovcak Field, preceded her in death.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, July 8, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard, where a closing prayer will take place at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers Karen's family suggests memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
