BOARDMAN - Joseph A. Swierz, 79, passed away Friday afternoon, Feb. 3, 2017, at Hospice House following a brief illness.

Joseph was born Dec. 23, 1937, in Youngstown, the son of the late John and Victoria Trybus Swierz, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1955 graduate of South High School, and owned and operated Cornersburg Beverage with his wife, until his retirement.

Mr. Swierz enjoyed playing the lottery, and he loved being with his family.

Joe was of the Catholic faith.

Joe leaves his wife Dolores Lewis Swierz, whom he married June 21, 1975; a stepdaughter, Rhonda (Edward) Petruzzi of Youngstown; a stepson, Curt (Nannette) Walker of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two grandsons, Luke and Ryan Walker; and a sister, Gertrude Gora of Boardman.

Three brothers, Stanley, Edward, and John Swierz, and three sisters, Frances Kicos, Clara Ferenchak, and Adele Pavel, preceded him in death.

There will be no services or calling hours. Interment will follow at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
