BOARDMAN - Joseph Martin Dorko Jr. 73, passed away unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, March 15, 2017, at his home.

Joseph was born Jan. 20, 1944, in Youngstown, a son of the late Joseph Sr. and Mary Salaka Dorko, and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Dorko was a 1961 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and was a bus driver for the WRTA for 35 years, retiring in 2011. In his younger days, he worked for the Youngstown Mattress Company.

He was a member of St. Charles Church in Boardman. He enjoyed playing golf, and he loved spending time with his family.

Joe leaves his beloved wife of 37 years, Monica M. Fabrizio Dorko, whom he married Sept. 9, 1979; two daughters, Danielle M. McClain of Columbiana and Kelly Jo Moore of Youngstown; a granddaughter, McKenzie Noel Moore; his mother-in-law, Helen Fabrizio of Boardman; two nieces; his faithful canine companion, "Leo,"; and his "granddog," "Bella."

A brother, Richard Dorko; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Dorko; and his father-in-law, Henry Fabrizio, are deceased.

Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, March 20, at St. Charles Church, 7345 Westview Drive, Boardman, where a Memorial Mass will follow at 11 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made in Joe's name to The Rescue Mission, or to Angels for Animals.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
