YOUNGSTOWN - John J. Kirsch, Jr., 62, of the city's west side, passed away late Monday morning, Nov. 9, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
John was born Nov. 30, 1952, in Youngstown, a son of the late John J. Sr. and Pauline Hoffman Kirsch, and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Kirsch served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the early 1970s, and retired from the Youngstown City Street Department.
John leaves his wife of 39 years, Mary Ann Guerrieri Kirsch, whom he married Aug. 13, 1976; four children, Edward (Audrey) Chambers, Eric Chambers, John J. III (Elizabeth) Kirsch, and Kelly Kirsch (Bob) Hartill; 10 grandchildren, Edward, Eric, Kayla, Sierra, Kent, Nathen, Rosalie, Sophia, Emily, and Vincent; a great-granddaughter, Aurora; two sisters, Diane (Danny) Coley and Danyal (John) Vandergrift; and three brothers, Randy Kirsch, Nicky (Penny) Kirsch, and Edward (Carey) Kirsch.
Per John's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Committal services with military honors will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman at a later date.
