YOUNGSTOWN - John Thomas Kapturasky Sr., 78, of the city's west side, passed away Saturday morning, June 25, 2016, at Vibra Hospital of Mahoning Valley in Boardman.

John was born March 7, 1938, in Youngstown, a son of the late Joseph and Anna Hanisko Kapturasky, and was a lifelong area resident.

A 1955 graduate of The Rayen School, John worked for U.S. Steel for 20 years, and for the State Liquor Store for 11 years.

Mr. Kapturasky enjoyed following the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers, and he especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family.

John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carole Walters Kapturasky, whom he married Feb. 14, 1959; three children, John Jr. (Lori) Kapturasky of Canfield, James Kapturasky of Youngstown, and Charlene Kapturasky of Youngstown; two grandchildren, Jared and Alaina; a brother, Edward Kapturasky of Niles; and a sister, Sally Ann (Paul) Bedenik of Youngstown.

A brother, Joseph Kapturasky, is deceased.

Per John's wishes, there will be no services or calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 North Meridian Road, Youngstown.
