BOARDMAN - John E. Barninger, 75, formerly of Girard, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, Dec. 22, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center, with his family by his side.

John was born Oct. 30, 1941, in Youngstown, the son of the late John M. and Mary Mildred Hirst Barninger, and was a lifelong area resident.

John previously worked for U.S. Steel in McDonald.

He greatly enjoyed flying guideline airplanes, fishing, drawing and artistry, and John especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family.

John leaves his son, Eric Barninger of Girard; his daughter, Nina Radevaugh of Columbus; a sister, Mary Rock of McDonald; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A nephew, Albert Barninger, and a brother-in-law, Walter Rock, preceded John in death.

Family and friends may gather from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard, where a memorial service will take place at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow at Girard City Cemetery.
