AUSTINTOWN - Joanne C. Masterson, 61, passed away Tuesday morning, February 6, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital following a one year illness.

Joanne was born December 19, 1962, in Trinidad, a daughter of the late Gloria Ragoo Crawford and came to the United States as a child, initially settling in New York, Joanne eventually found her home in Youngstown in 1995.

She was a graduate of Gordon High School in Yonkers, New York and in her younger days, Joanne worked at General Motors and CCA before dedicating her life to raising and caring for her family.

She poured her heart and soul into creating a loving and nurturing environment for her family. Joanne found joy in the simple pleasures of life, with a particular passion for cooking. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and hospitality, where she delighted in preparing meals for her loved ones.

A true people person, Joanne had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. However, her greatest joy came from being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her love knew no bounds, and she treasured every moment spent with her family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Joanne is survived by her husband of 32 years, Mark Masterson, whom she married September 28, 1991; her three sons, Mark Masterson Jr., Michael Masterson and Nathaniel Masterson all of Austintown; her grandson, Landon Masterson, and her sister, Roberta Crawford of New York.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of Joanne's life from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
