Joanna Lugo

SHARON, Pa. — Joseph Jonathan “Joanna” Lugo, 38, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, Dec. 21, 2025, at Sharon Regional Hospital.

Joanna was born April 21, 1987, in Hartford, Connecticut, to Maria Nazario Rodriguez and Hector Lugo. She came to the Youngstown area approximately 11 years ago and more recently made her home in Sharon.

She was a graduate of Hartford High School and worked as a direct support specialist for REM Ohio/Sevita. Joanna also was employed at True North/Shell Gas Station.

Joanna enjoyed cooking and had a fondness for collecting cups, mugs and tumblers. Above all, she truly enjoyed life and the people she shared it with, bringing warmth and kindness to those around her.

Joanna leaves to forever cherish her memory her mother, Maria Rodriguez of Youngstown; her step-father, Ray Rodriguez; her partner, Rafael Fonseca, with whom she shared her home; eight siblings, Jennifer Nazario, Angel Lugo (Maggie), Walter Rivera (John Gates), Miracle Nazario, Gregory Tavarez, Justin Reyes, Crystal Lugo and Jeremy Lugo; and many extended family members.

Family and friends may gather to pay their respects from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where a celebration of life service will take place at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow at Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown.
