Jeanette Sekela

AUSTINTOWN — Jeanette Sekela, 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, at Avenue at Aurora.

Jeanette was born April 21, 1939, in Canton, a daughter of the late Sam Sait and Frances Phillips Sait, and came to Austintown in 1959.

She was a graduate of Leavittsburg High School and worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren in her younger years. More recently, Jeanette worked for Dorrance Supply before retiring.

Jeanette enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and spending time with her family.

She leaves to forever cherish her memory her son, William D. (Barbara) Sekela of Aurora; her two grandchildren, Melinda Sekela of New York City and Aaron Sekela of Cincinnati; her two sisters, Helen Pastovich and Zuria Miller; and her brother, Michael (Jean) Sait of Champion.

Her husband, William Sekela Jr., whom she married May 14, 1960, died March 29, 1999.

A sister, Dorothy Miller, and two brothers, Donald Sait and Hysen Sait, also preceded Jeanette in death.

Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown, where Jeanette will be laid to rest beside her husband.
