YOUNGSTOWN – Jean Ellen Evans, 66, of the city's west side, died Thursday, October 24, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, following cardiac arrest after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jean was born March 22, 1958, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Kenneth McIntire and Nancy Penezich, and was a lifelong area resident.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a woman of many talents, finding joy in crocheting, bowling, and reading. Jean also enjoyed playing Bingo, visiting car shows, and watching auto racing. Above all, she treasured her grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to brag about their achievements.

Jean is survived by her two children, Joan Elizabeth (Johnathon) Clous of Aurora, IL., and Randi (David) Harris of Canfield; two step children, Anna Luknis of Struthers and Richard T. Evans of Boardman;10 grandchildren, Evan Shobel, Richard T. Evans Jr., Timothy Steele, Anthony Evans, Bishep Clous, Serenity Adams, Nikolas Evans, Andrew Luknis, Thomas Luknis and Kenneth Harris; her sister, Nancy (Tim) Caroline of Mineral Ridge; a niece Alexis Caroline and several extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Richard W. Evans, who passed away on November 26, 2016, and her brother, Kenneth "Randy" McIntire.

In accordance with Jean's wishes, there will be no services. Those who wish to honor her memory may consider making a donation to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
