YOUNGSTOWN – James Patrick "Jimbo" Kula, 54, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, Nov. 4, 2018, at his home.
James was born Aug. 26, 1964, in Youngstown, a son of the late James John and Claudia Penelope Foley Kula, and was a lifelong area resident.
Jim was a 1982 graduate of Chaney High School, where he was a "superstar" on the football team. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for two years.
Mr. Kula worked in construction for his friend, John Lucci, and also for Michael's Landscaping and Youngstown Steel Door.
Jimbo loved classic rock music and could sing any classic rock song very well. He had a terrific sense of humor that went hand-in-hand with a contagious smile. He was always making everyone laugh and he was loved by many.
Jim leaves his wife, Christine Ann Sablak Kula, whom he married July 1, 1995; two children, Cortney and Nicholas Kula, both of Youngstown; a sister, Jackie Kula of Youngstown; an uncle, Jerome Foley of Deerfield, Mich.; many cousins; and many friends.
Besides his parents, Jim was preceded by his stepfather, Rosario Nicosia; his grandparents; and his cousin, Michael Foley.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service celebrating Jim's life to be held at 6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 12, at Crossroads Church on South Meridian Road in Austintown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
