Irene was a woman of faith and active community involvement. She was a member of the former St. Stephen of Hungary Church and later Holy Apostles Parish. Her Hungarian heritage was a source of pride, reflected in her involvement with the Hungarian Club, where she served as treasurer. Irene found joy in many activities, especially tending to her gardens, where her vibrant roses and tomatoes flourished. An avid reader, she enjoyed books that broadened her knowledge and enriched her life. Above all, Irene cherished time with her family, creating countless lasting memories.
Irene's memory will be carried on by her daughters, Irene Devlin, Susan Willis, and Christine Nemeth, all of Youngstown; her granddaughters, Michele Blair of Williamsburg, VA, Jessica Cardelein of Youngstown, Sara-Ann (Cody) Edwards of Youngstown, and Carly (Kevin) LaPresta of Akron; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla Blair, Emily Stafford, Justine (Zac) Velez, Aimee Stafford, Cooper Cardelein, Kaydyn Cardelein, and Crue Twyford; eight great-great-grandchildren, Oliver Warrick, Jamison Velez, Theodore Velez, Lorelei Velez, Claire Ava Edwards, Angel LaPresta, Alyssa LaPresta and Aleia LaPresta; a cousin and close friend, Linda Perry Higgins of Wisconsin and many extended family members.
