BOARDMAN - Irene A. Boris, 88, formerly of Campbell, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, late Friday evening, Dec. 4, 2015, at Hospice House.

Irene was born Dec. 15, 1926, in Struthers, a daughter of the late Michael and Veronica Tkach Sabol, and was a lifelong area resident and a 1945 graduate of Struthers High School.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker, Mrs. Boris also worked for McCrory's, for Weatherbee Coats, and for Livingston's and Strouss' Department Store in downtown Youngstown.

Irene was an active member of Christ Our Savior Parish, Holy Trinity Church in Struthers. She was a pirogi worker at the church, was the secretary for the LPSCU, and was a member of Jednota.

Mrs. Boris enjoyed her family immensely, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and working crossword puzzles.

Irene leaves her daughter, Deborah (Andrew) Bottiglieri of Niles; her son, James (Suzanne) Boris of Poland; two grandchildren, Kelli (Gregg) Brickman and Amy (Charles) Buttke; great-grandchildren, Ella, Adriana, Matthew, and Nathan Brickman, and C.J., Andrea, and Carissa Buttke; a brother, George (Pat) Sabol of Struthers; and two sisters, Maryann (Ed) Strauss of Boardman and Dolores (Bill) Ulicny of Struthers.

Her husband, Charles "Kelly" Boris, whom she married Aug. 12, 1950, passed away Aug. 17, 1970.

Besides her husband, four brothers, Mike, John, Joe, and James Sabol, and a sister, Margaret Locicero, preceded her in death.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.

Family and friends may also call from 9 to 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Holy Trinity Church, 250 N. Bridge St., Struthers, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at St. John  Cemetery in Coitsville, where Irene will be laid to rest next to her husband.

Irene's family thanks the staff at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center, 2 North; and the staff at Hospice House, for the kindness shown and care given to Irene.
