GIRARD - Hilda M. Dobson, 88, passed away peacefully, Friday morning, June 23, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Hilda was born July 28, 1934, in Poland, a daughter of the late Eli and Julia Pope Day, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a graduate of Poland Seminary High School and in her younger days, she worked as a supervisor at Moyers Pants Factory before dedicating her adult life to raising and caring for her family.

Mrs. Dobson was a member of Youngstown Church of God on Lanterman Road.

She enjoyed watching football and basketball and also enjoyed watching local baseball and softball games.

Hilda leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Patricia (Daniel) Rovnyk of Milton, Florida; her son, Jeffrey (Julie) Dobson of Cortland; six grandchildren, Nicole, Jeffrey, Brandon (Ashley) Jason, Sabrina and Danielle (Jared); four great grandchildren, Parker, Olivia, Mea and Ethan and several nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Her husband of nearly 60 years, Frank A. Dobson, whom she married February 17, 1962, passed away January 7, 2022.

A great grandson, Liam and several brothers and sisters also preceded Hilda in death.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of Hilda's life from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Austintown Township Park.
