NILES - Helen C. Ramps, 89, formerly of Girard, passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at Autumn Hills Nursing Home after a long and fulfilling life.
Helen was born Jan. 2, 1926, in Girard, a daughter of the late Michael and Katherine Oles Zaleski, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a graduate of Girard High School and dedicated her adult life to raising and caring for her family. Helen was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed cooking, watching game shows on television, and going on walks. Helen especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family.
Mrs. Ramps was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard, and was a past member of the St. Rose Senior Citizens.
Her husband, Joseph G. Ramps, whom she married Aug. 29, 1953, passed away Dec. 5, 1995.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Karen (William) Constantino of Girard; her son, Joseph G. Ramps Jr. of Girard; two step-grandchildren, Amy Davis and William Constantino II; four step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mildred Golder of Niles and Alice Seka of Austintown.
Besides her husband, a brother, Adam Zaleski, and four sisters Mary Tyson, Jenny Schisler, Victoria Sipusic and Bernice Stone, are deceased.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 2, at Kinnick Funeral Home, McClurkin Memorial Chapel, 222 S. State St., in Girard.
Funeral services will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home and will continue with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 1 p.m. at St. Rose Church, 48 E. Main St., Girard.
Committal services will follow at Girard Union Cemetery.
Helen's family thanks the staff of Autumn Hills Nursing Home for the kindness shown and care given to Helen during her stay there.
