Obituary

AUSTINTOWN - Helen Clark, 94, formerly of Youngstown's west side, passed away late Friday evening, Sept. 11, 2015, at Humility House in Austintown.

Helen was born April 10, 1921, in Koppel, Pa., a daughter of the late Peter and Anastasia Samulka.

She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker who also worked for 30 years in the housekeeping and janitorial department at the Mahoning County Courthouse, retiring in 1980.

Mrs. Clark was a member of St. Patrick Church in Youngstown. She was a member of the Golden Agers and of the Sts. Peter & Paul UOC. She enjoyed bingo, music, going to casinos, and traveling with her sister, and she enjoyed reading the First Catholic Slovak Union Jednota newspaper. Most of all, Helen loved the time she spent with her family.

Helen leaves five children, Helen Bulatko of Youngstown, Thomas Clark Jr. of California, Mary M. (Thomas) Lane of Youngstown, Emma Antonucci of Omaha, Neb., and Rose Clark of Youngstown; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a brother, John (Shirley) Samulka of Hubbard; and a sister, Peggy Dressel of Hubbard.

Her husband, Thomas Clark passed away in 1980. Five sisters, Sue Kostecki, Annabelle Baker, Mary Bishop, Pauline Samulka, and Judy Aggers; two brothers, George Kostecki and Paul Samulka; and a son-in-law, Charles Bulatko, are also deceased.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., TUESDAY, Sept. 15, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.

Funeral services will begin at 10:15 a.m., WEDNESDAY (9/16) at the funeral home, and will continue at 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Patrick Church on Oak Hill Ave. in Youngstown.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Helen will be laid to rest next to her husband.

Mrs. Clark's family extends sincere thanks to the special care unit at Humility House for the compassionate, loving care given to Helen during her illness.
