YOUNGSTOWN - Gregory D. Barr, 63, of the city's west side, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at his home, following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Gregory was born September 16, 1961, in Canton, a son of the late Thurman and Sandra Wearstler Barr. A lifelong resident of the area, he grew up in Newton Falls and graduated from Newton Falls High School.

Throughout his life, Greg held various jobs. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly fishing and spending time in the great outdoors. These pursuits brought him peace and connection to nature, which he cherished deeply.

Greg will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Michael J. Barr of Akron, along with many extended family members who hold fond memories of him close to their hearts.

In keeping with Greg's wishes, no calling hours or services will be held. His family takes comfort in honoring his request and cherishing the legacy of his life privately.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
