AUSTINTOWN - Geraldine "Jerry" Beene, 83, of Fitch Boulevard, passed away tragically Thursday evening, New Year's Eve, 2015, from injuries suffered in an auto accident.

Geraldine was born June 4, 1932, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Arthur and Gilda Pondant Cervello, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a 1950 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and married Ralph M. Beene on April 21, 1951. They were married for 56 years, until Ralph passed away in 2007.

Jerry was a member of St. Brendan Church for more than 50 years, where she was a long-time member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Austintown Senior Center.

Jerry enjoyed bowling and playing cards, and loved spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Beene leaves two daughters, Karen Bata (Lee Bach) of Hubbard and Sherene (Don) Mackos of Cincinnati; five grandchildren, T. Bart Bata, Ryan (Heidi) Mackos, Angela (A.J.) Giancola, Marisa (Andrew) O'Neill, and Natalie Bata (Nick Mymo); and five great-grandchildren, Anthony Mymo, Dominic Giancola, Amelia Mymo, Giuliana Mackos, and Mack O'Neill.

Besides her husband, Jerry was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Steve Balasko.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home and continue at 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Brendan Church, 2800 Oakwood Ave., Youngstown.

Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, where Jerry will be laid to rest next to her husband.
