BURGHILL — Gary Holtzman, 76, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Gary was born March 5, 1949, in Youngstown, a son of the late William and Elizabeth Vekasy Holtzman, and was a lifelong area resident.

A 1967 graduate of Chaney High School, Gary worked as a truck driver for several local trucking companies throughout his career before retiring.

He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, where he was a "river rat," navigating and patrolling the rivers of Vietnam.

Gary is survived by his children, Kent Holtzman of Youngstown, Sharon (Chad) Hutchinson of Dayton, and Kurt Holtzman of Champion; nine grandchildren; his wife, Jane; and his sister, Judy Holtzman of Youngstown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sidna Mashiska.

Per Gary's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
