YOUNGSTOWN - Frederick Lee Green, 70, of the city's west side, passed away peacefully at his home in his sleep late Wednesday evening, Dec. 14, 2016.

Frederick was born May 30, 1946, in New Castle, Pa., a son of the late George and Janet Noss Green, and was raised in Chippewa Township.

He was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School. Fred briefly attended Mount Union College, and served in the United States Air Force with the Strategic Air Command.

He learned welding at Beaver County Community College and worked as a welding inspector for various companies.

Mr. Green leaves two sisters, Emily (Neal) Cooper of Beaver Falls and Janet (Allen) Beighley of Carnation, Washington.

There are no calling hours. Services will be held at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
