GIRARD- Frank A. Dobson, 86, formerly of Burkey Road in Austintown, died unexpectedly of natural causes Friday evening, January 7, 2022, at his home.

Frank was born September 11, 1935 in Hubbard, a son of the late Eugene and Effie Shafer Dobson, and was a lifelong Mahoning Valley resident.  He was a graduate of Hubbard High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. Dobson worked for Coca-Cola Bottling, Economy Electric and also had various odd jobs throughout the area.  He enjoyed playing and watching sports, especially football, and he  also enjoyed building model airplanes, painting pictures and spending time with his grandkids.

Frank is survived by his wife, Hilda Day Dobson, whom he married February 17, 1961; a daughter, Patty (Daniel) Rovynak of Montgomery, AL.; a son, Jeffrey (Julie) Dobson of Cortland; six grandchildren, Nichole, Jeffrey (Sara), Brandon (Ashley), Jason, Danielle (Jared) and Sabrina; and four great grandchildren, Parker, Olivia, Ethan and Mea.

Two brothers, Thomas and Hughey Dobson, a sister, Margie Davis and a great-grandson Liam, are deceased.

Family and friends may pay respects on Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 4 to 6 pm at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m.
