GIRARD - Frank C. Buonavolonta, 62, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, March 4, 2016, at Valley Care Northside Medical Center in Youngstown, with his family by his side.
Frank was born April 29, 1953, in Youngstown, a son of the late Andrew and Evelyn Venzio Buonavolonta, and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Buonavolonta worked for Conrail for many years. He also worked for Vivelo Paving, for Tamco, for Greenwood Chevrolet in Austintown, and most recently for Miller's Towing.
He was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard.
Frank was a member of the I.F.H and the Eagle's Lodge No. 2172 in Girard. He greatly enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and friends.
His wife, Diane Capaldi Buonavolonta, whom he married in December of 2000, passed away in August of 2006.
Mr. Buonavolonta leaves a son, Frank (Kerry) Buonavolonta of Boardman; two daughters, Kathryn (Scott) Siegel of Girard and Renee (Sean) Houser of Boardman; five grandchildren, Christopher Buonavolonta, Scotty and Patrick Siegel, and Haley and Addison Houser; a brother, Vito (Gina) Buonavolonta of Canfield; two sisters, Joann (Tommy) Trucksis and Florence (Chuck) Doran, both of Girard; a sister-in-law Kathy Buonavolonta of Girard; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides his wife, a brother, Andrew "Junior" Buonavolonta, preceded him in death.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, at Kinnick Funeral Home McClurkin Memorial Chapel, 222 S. State St., Girard.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, at the funeral home and will continue with a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11 a.m at St. Rose Church 48 E. Main Street, Girard.
Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown, where Frank will be laid to rest next to his wife.
