Obituary

YOUNGSTOWN - Elsie A. Cramer, 98, of the city's west side, passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, July 25, 2024, at Omni Manor after a long and fulfilling life.

Elsie was born April 28, 1926, in Pulaski, Virginia, a daughter of the late John Henry Hodge and Dola Mae Cole Hodge and came to the Youngstown area in the late 1950's.

Elsie briefly worked at Jefferson Mills in Pulaski before dedicating over 25 years to Lawson's. Despite her busy work life, she always prioritized raising and caring for her family. Her dedication to her loved ones was evident in everything she did.

Elsie was a member of Girard United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, visiting casinos, and nurturing her love for flowers. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, who she always put first.

Elsie is survived by her three sons, William (Patricia) Hall of Struthers, Mark (Anna) Hall of Austintown and John Hall of Girard; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Janet (John) Dinello of Mineral Ridge and Roberta (Lisa) Lamp of Virginia Beach, VA; her sister, Patsy Lester of Dublin, Virginia; two very close friends, Diane Egley and Judy Krause and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William H. Hall; her second husband, Robert B. Cramer; her daughter, Tammy Hall; a daughter-in-law, Bridgette Hall; a step-daughter, Linda Swanson; two brothers, John Hodge Jr. and Claude Hodge; and a sister, Frances Turner.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.

Elsie's family extends heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Omni Manor and Hospice of the Valley for their kindness and compassionate care during her final days. Special thanks also go to Diane Egley and Judy Krause for their many years of friendship and support.
