YOUNGSTOWN – Elizabeth Glasscock, 88, of the city's West Side, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, Oct. 23, 2021, at her home after an extended illness.

Elizabeth was born March 3, 1933, in Perry County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Mary Watkins Gibson, and came to this area in 1962 after her marriage.

She was a homemaker who devoted much of her adult life to raising and caring for her family. She also worked outside the home for Packaging Corp. from 1966 until 1983, when the company closed its doors.

Mrs. Glasscock enjoyed cooking, baking, and cleaning, and her greatest love in life was being around children.

Elizabeth's husband of 44 years, Frank Glasscock, whom she married Feb. 10, 1962, passed away May 5, 2006.

Elizabeth leaves two daughters, Sheila Blott of Niles and Karen Mason of Youngstown; her son, David (David Fielder) Glassco of Westfield, N.J.; three grandchildren, Marilee (Jeff) Modarelli, Bill (Jamie) Blott, and Rebecca (Michael) Blakeman; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lee (Marilyn) Gibson of Springfield, Ill. and Clyde (Faye) Gibson of Ocala, Fla.

Besides her husband, a sister, Helen Barnett, preceded Elizabeth in death.

Family and friends may call from noon to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where services will follow at 2 p.m. Due to the ongoing pandemic, please wear masks or face coverings if attending the visitation or services, and respectfully follow current social distancing guidelines.
