BERLIN CENTER - Edward W. Kreitzburg, 83, passed away Thursday afternoon, Dec. 18, 2025, at Aventura at Assumption Village, surrounded by the love of his family.
Edward was born Oct. 6, 1942, in Youngstown, a son of the late Eugene and Margaret Mohn Kreitzburg, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a 1962 graduate of Chaney High School and went on to attend Youngstown College for two years before proudly serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Ed worked for many years as a refrigeration and air conditioning repairman, employed by A&P, Dieter, and Store Systems and Services, retiring in the early 2000s.
Mr. Kreitzburg was a member of St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church in Austintown. He enjoyed woodworking and refinishing projects, but most of all cherished spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.
Ed is survived by his wife of 58 years, Emilia “Millie” Suchar Kreitzburg, whom he married Oct. 14, 1967; his three children, Tania (James) Telshaw of Canfield, Eugene (Diana) Kreitzburg of Canfield and Mark (Lori) Kreitzburg of Rootstown; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; two brothers, Ray Kreitzburg of Berlin Center, and Charles (Sandi) Kreitzburg of Berlin Center; and many extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanne Staffrey and Alma Jean Brown.
Family and friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
A committal service with military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
Ed’s family extends heartfelt and sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff of Patriot Hospice and First Light Home Health Care, especially Melissa and Shianne, for their kindness, compassion and exceptional care.
